Wildlife Preserve
(10 Km from Chtaura)

    From Chtaura drive two kilometers to the west, i.e. toward Beirut, then turn left to the village of Qabis Elias. From here it is another four kilometers to Ammiq. This 100-hectare (250-acre) wetland is a natural beauty spot which has been declared a preserve for wildlife, notably birds, fish and turtles. With its lovely views of plain and mountains and the reflecting waters, it is a pleasant place for a picnic.
