International Airport
Technicians of the Future

Established in 1991 by the Department of Civil Aviation, initially to provide aviation-related training for private students and corporate clients, Dubai Aviation College has extended its scope since receiving accreditation from the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, allowing it to operate in the wider field of higher education.
In addition to its well-established aviation courses, the college now offers 14 different BTEC courses across engineering and management, as well as two English-language courses, all designed to equip young people with the skills needed to enter employment, or to continue their studies at university level.
Fields of study include aerospace engineering, air traffic control, meteorological studies, electronics and communication engineering, as well as leisure and tourism, business studies and management and marketing. All of these courses lead to a degree qualification or equivalent. Short  courses are also offered.
Emphasis is placed upon practical work relevant to all of the disciplines, and the college has invested heavily in state-of-the-art teaching aids and equipment, including what is believed to be the only digital classroom in the Middle East. Facilities include engineering workshops, electronic labs, computer labs, an Internet lab, an air traffic control simulation room, a language lab and library.
Dubai Aviation College has linked up with a number of international awarding bodies such as

the Civil Aviation Authority in the UK and the Federal Aviation Authority in the USA. It is also linked with the ICAO, BTEC, EdExel, the Royal Society of Arts, and City and Guilds institutions, as well as a number of international colleges and universities.
Students who successfully complete the college's aerospace engineering program qualify for licensing in the UK - making Dubai Aviation College the only institute of its kind outside the UK to be recognized in this respect by the CAA.
Since 1991, more than 5,00 students have attended the college, gaining a variety of qualifications. Eight hundred students representing nearly 40 nationalities were enrolled for the 1999/2000 academic year - and with its new accreditation, the college hopes to increase its student numbers by 20 percent a year.
The college is now firmly established as a center of excellence in the region and will continue to expand and diversify to meet the demands of the aviation industry, on of the fastest-growing sectors in the Middle East today.
