Church Wall Paintings

    In this town above Batroun is the stone church of Mar Saba, where fragments of important 13th century wall paintings can be seen. Among them are images of horses and groups of saints with halos. Another stone church dedicated to Mar Mema (St. Mamas) has a vaulted roof and is built with antique materials.
