Nebuchadmezzar's Pillars
(105 Km from Chtaura)

Located seven to eight kilometers beyond Hermel along the road after Sharbine village, are two inscriptions of Nebuchadnezzar engraved on a hollowed-out niche on the rock. There is one on each side of the wadi through which the road passes. The inscriptions, which both have the same text, are also duplicated at Dog River north of Beirut.

The text tells of this famous Babylonian king's conquests in Lebanon.
