(Traditional Village 16 km)

    Once you get off the main Damascus Highway which goes on to Aley, you will find many pleasant old villages such as this one. Asbadiyeh is particularly interesting for its scattered feudal architecture, stepped passageways and pleasant views. A midan or square is lined on two sides with uniformly splendid houses in the traditional style, one of which has a picturesque covered balcony. From Aabadiyeh a beautiful road leads down through a forest of umbrella pines.
