(Maritime Exhibition 7 km) Wonders of the Sea, a permanent maritime exhibition, is situated in an old Lebanese house in Jdeidet el Metn. The display includes some 3,000 shells and about 630 species, including the murex, source of purple dye in Phoenician times. A variety of dried echinoderms, sponges and crustaceans, as well as replicas of sharks and other large sea creatures is on show. There is also an educational documentary film on sea life. |
